EVER GO TO EAST ICELAND?? IT’S WORTH THE RELATIVELY SHORT FLIGHT FROM REYKJAVIK TO Egilsstaðir. From there, i’d rent a car and visit some of the small towns scattered throughout the fjords. after spending a few days on the eastern coast, drive back to reykjavik along the southern coast. the road back west is a simple drive logistically but much of the time is spent early on in the trip, winding in and out of the otherworldly coastline that feels prehistoric due to the heavy presence of volcanic mountains and large ornery looking birds flying everywhere. small towns pop up every now and again and these have much to offer in the way of hospitality, which makes the trip quite charming. Also, go in the winter. Sure, it’s beautiful in the summer but you’ll probably never see or experience anything else like east iceland in the winter. this will be a curation of photos taken along the way.
